Siqalo Mining and Engineering Projects (Pty) LTD (SIMEP), is a wholly black owned mining and engineering company. The company was founded with a primary aim of providing a more flexible, highly skilled and more cost-effective alternative solution to mining challenges. The company has a focus that offers contracting and consulting services to a wide range of customers.
The company leadership comprises of a strong team of professionals with a wide range of skills and experience in mining, engineering, projects and business management. We share an entrepreneurial spirit, and are set on the goal to establish SIMEP as a company of the future, focusing on long-term business partnerships. SIMEP is comprised of 3 divisions; Mining, Engineering and Project Management.
Broad-Based Black Economic Empowerment (B-BBEE)
SIMEP is a Level 1 B-BBEE contributor. The company is 100 % owned by a historically disadvantaged South Africans (HDSA). As a company, we seek to maintain the current status by ensuring that a diverse team is appointed in all levels of management. We are also committed to doing business with B-BBEE compliant and accredited businesses.
Safety, Health, Environmental and Quality Policy
SIMEP believes that Health, Safety, Environment and Quality are the foundation of sustainable business. The company recognises employees, customers, business partners, suppliers and communities as key stakeholders for its operation and successful partnership.
On our projects; quality, safety, environment awareness, good governance and legal compliance are paramount priorities. Our projects shall be maintained in accordance with management systems (based on ISO 9001, ISO 14001, Mines Health and Safety Act and the Occupational Health and Safety Act).
SIMEP de-risking approach co-ordinates the technical, execution, experience, financial, relationship and commercial expertise, using:
• Risk and project management tools that take into account that each project is unique in size, shape, complexity and execution.
• Qualitative and quantitative de-risking methods, supplemented by a broad risk management plan, to continuously evaluate projects in terms of risk from business development to completion and hand-over.
The company has developed professional associations with a number of progressive professional engineering bodies to form relationship that allows SIMEP to provide comprehensive professional services. The employees of SIMEP belong to various professional bodies in their personal capacities including but not limited to the following organisations.
